Belarus and Russia have made progress in understanding the price of Russian gas in 2021, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko told reporters today on the sidelines of the plenary session of the VII Forum of regions of the two countries. He said that on September 11, he met with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom management Board, in St. Petersburg. And the parties have advanced in understanding.
— I won’t tell you the nuances. We worked fruitfully, talked, and found a consensus on the main issues, ” Vladimir Semashko said.
In his opinion, there will be a gradual movement to reduce the price of Russian gas for Belarus.
— Most likely, some step to reduce the price will be already from January 1, 2021. The common gas market in the SG, I think, can already be created from January 1, 2022, — the Ambassador believes.
The price of Russian gas in 2020 for Belarus is $127 per 1,000 cubic meters.
